We had our genetic counseling and NT scan today. I learned some important info., like my bro and I could have the same liver disorder my cousin died of and we didn't think we could, so all three of us (dad, too) are going in for testing ASAP! The baby was a wily rascal and they had a hard time getting the measurements, but they did and the doc said our baby looks as perfect as can be! Phew! We also heard the h/b for the first time and DH cried, which was so awesome! He thinks he will be able to tell the flavor of the baby at the next appt., but if not it will be seven more weeks. And, we also got the info. that the school district is dropping it's fight against taking our good health insurance away and giving us crappy insurance, so all in all, today was full of good news!

I'm not terribly concerned about the liver disorder. I have only a 25 percent chance. My cousins had a 50 percent chance and out of 15 of them, only one has it. It's a manageable disease unless you drink, which is what killed my godfather. I'm just glad we were told so we could go get tested because untreated it will kill you!
