I haven't had a good night of sleep in a year? I slept terrible while I was pregnant and even when LO sleeps well at night I don't (which he has not for the last few nights). Boo.
Somehow I've adapted to the lack of sleep. Two years ago I never would have been able to function on this little sleep. I would have taken sick days or fallen asleep at work. It's amazing to me that I can power through.
Last night, I fell asleep around 9pm, A woke at 11 and cried till 11:30pm until I caved and brought him in bed. I should not have done that because he hits me in his sleep so I was up at 1am and then he got up at 2:30 to eat. Put him back in his crib and I got back to sleep around 3:15am. He woke at 5:30am and I got him to sleep in bed with me till 6:15.
Yet somehow, I'm at work, functioning AND in a good mood. This blows my mind!

We went from (2 weeks ago) only getting up twice a night (mom once, dad once, it was HEAVEN) to having a sick baby last week, and now a baby who must be trying to cut a tooth, because he was MISERABLE. No fever, no other illness symptoms, so that has to be why he was whining and then screaming bloody murder last night...all night...
Mmmmm Mt. Dew.....

I honestly don't remember what it's like to be well-rested. I am surprised that I can function at all on so little sleep, and I often have the worst time trying to concentrate at work.
I wouldn't be tired, because DH takes all the night time stuff with Smudge, but I have sleeping problems. Which is why DH gets up with him. It takes me over an hour to fall asleep most times. Even if I got up for 5 minutes to feed the baby, I'd be up for at least an hour, twice a night.
My doc gave me a prescription for sleeping pills. I hope they help.
