Last night I went to my grandparents for dinner. We saw my uncle and his wife for the first time since getting pregnant. When they saw me they rubbed my stomach and my uncle's wife said "Awww look at your little pooch!!" I have a little bloat bump...don't touch me!!! WTH?
Has anyone ever said anything to anyone when they've touched your stomach??
Re: Touching my belly already??? Ugghh!!
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.
<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewThe only people who ever touched my stomach when I was pregnant with my son were family & friends - I didn't mind it because I touch them anyway. (Hugs, kisses, etc.)
Thankfully I never had a stranger feel it was OK to rub my belly.
I'm chubby to begin with--i'm 5'11'' and wear an 18-20 in clothes. If anyone would touch my stomach I'd tell them that's not baby, that's just fluff.
I don't understand why people think it's socially acceptable to touch people's bellies. I've done it when people specifically say "Feel the baby move."
Unfortunately it's a hard spot to be in....you can't tell people "Dont do that" without being offensive. Maybe try touching them back and when they look at you weird just respond with "yea, that's weird, huh?"

I say: "Oh yeah...that's just my constipation. I'm REALLY backed up."
That usually does the trick
OMG! That's pretty bad!
So far no one's tried to touch me.... thank goodness.

umm yea I know lol... Just as a backstory my DH and I started dating in h/s and and for my birthday one time his mom got me a gift card to victoria secret because I loved thier pajamas...well she gave it to me in front of his grandma and when she saw where the gift card was from she says "oh my, do you like to wear those thong things" and I SWEAR TO GOD.....stuck her hand down that back of my pants to grab my underwear/bum!! i was a senior in h/s at the time and about jumped out of my skin... I guess I should have known then that inappropriatness runs in the family
My inlaws have already started ignoring me and talking to my belly, which is really nothing more than a bloat bump too. I even said, "hello?, remember me up here?"
Ugh...I was hoping they would do better this time. They did the same thing the entire time I was pg with DS.
Its even weirder when its someone you don't know. Like walking through your local walmart and some one comes up to you and is like Awww! I'm like umm that is inappropriate.
On this topic I also hated it when DD was still really little and I had to go to the grocery and people would walk up and try to touch her. I was like uh you didn't wash your hands and I don't know you. People are really weird like that
hahaha good idea!!
