I've put off weaning because my daughter drinks hardly any cow's milk. I want her to be getting enough liquids, so I don't feel comfortable dropping any more nursing sessions right now (she's down to about 3 or 4 daily). She does drink some water and juice, but I try to be cautious with those.
When did your LO start liking it enough to where it could replace breastmilk or formula? Does it really need to replace it, or do they get enough nutrition from other food sources now? I would just feel weird if my baby was only nursing a couple times and not drinking any milk during the day. I'm probably over thinking this. TIA.
Re: When did your LO start LIKING cow's milk?
My older son still prefers yogurt to milk. He nursed past two, but was eating yogurt regularly while he was nursing.
You don't need to worry if she's still nursing, and you can always substitue milk with food, or other forms of dairy. hth
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
I don't remember now, but sometime around 18-20 months. We just kept offering it. One day she decided she wanted it- while still at the grocery store- and I had to hunt down a cup and straw right.that.second.
We still nurse, though.
