I have heard the moms club talked about here a few times. I'm looking for something to join to be active in the community and well meet more moms. I bring LO to story time and open play group and I did make 1 friend at those. And am friendly with others..some of the moms at play group at a little snotty tho lol.
So my question is.. What's it all about. I looked at there web page and I didnt get a lot from it. I emailed the local chapter the other day bit haven't heard back yet. Also I'm kind of young - 24. And my son is 11months.. I'm worried I'll be the youngest one in the group..and that my son will be the youngest too. Is 11 months to young to join? I mean I read online that they go to the firehouse and stuff like that and he has been there and really loves it. But what other activities do they do? And I don't mean 24 as like to young to have kids but i am deff pretty lucky to be able to stay home at this age around here.
So can someone explain it a little more to me??
Thanks!!!
Re: Do you belong to a MOMs club?
I am in a moms group through my church.
I joined when DD was only 6 months old and there were other LO's that were younger.
We do lots of things. Mostly though I met a few really fun women who stay at home to and we just connected right away. Now we do lunch at the mall somedays and let the lo's play in the play area or meet at each other's houses.
Meeting people is really the most important. Once you have a few people to hang out with you can decided what types of things to do with you lo's that everyone will enjoy.
Joining my mom's club was the first thing I did last year after becoming a SAHM.
I'm 29, and most of the moms in my club are a little older than me, mid-30's ish, their kids are older too, like 2nd grade ish. They were SO welcoming and I'm really glad I joined.
Things they do: playdates at people's houses, meet at local parks, big family BBQ in the summer, "mom's night out" once a month, movies with the older kids, the zoo, children's museum, go get cupcakes, play at the water fountains, etc....
I started my own group where I live! I have a meetup.com group..

I did this so that I could have some friends that were expecting and were new moms. I have 60 plus members now and am close with about 15 of them. I highly suggest looking into this and starting a group where you live.
We are all in our 20's and 30's and do things like potlucks, baby play dates, bingo at local casinos, farmers markets, brunch, movies..etc.
Hope that helps you
