New to The Bump

New here...just introducing myself and asking questions

Hi, my name is Shayla- I've been TTC since July 2011.  We miscarried on October 31, 2011 and never started my cycle again until my doctor gave me bc to "kickstart" my cycle back up and make me have a period.  Now it has been over a month and I still haven't had another period- I go back to my doctor on Thursday this week to find out if I'm pregnant or not.

I do have one child, but she was born 71/2 years ago, and I don't remember much about my pregnancy because she was born so early- I remember more the excruciating 6 weeks that I had to leave her in the hospital.  Anyway, in trying to get pregnant again, I can't get a positive HPT- I took 12 for my daughter and all were negative; I had to get bloodwork done to find out that I was.

My questions for now is- what did your morning sickness feel like, and how did your boobs feel? I should've started my period on saturday but she didn't show.  I've been having sore boobs, like someone used them for speedbags lol.  And within this past week, I feel hungry,so I eat (and not a lot) then I immediately feel like I'm going to throw up. Tonight for example- I just ate about 20 minutes ago, and now I feel like I overate to the point of I want to throw up.  Its gross.  Now my last pregnancy any food that smelled bad made me nauseous, but I never threw up.

If I'm not pregnant this month my doctor is sending me to a fertility clinic, because technically I have never carried a baby to term (my daughter was born at 32 weeks and now I've suffered a miscarriage at 8 weeks).   He said we will start the full blood workup and ultrasound, and he will put me on clomid to make sure I ovulate.

I hope something good comes from this!

  • PMS and pregnancy symptoms can be very similar. It sounds like you'll need bloodwork to find out what's going on.

I wouldn't jump immediately to Clomid, especially since staying pregnant is more of a problem than getting pregnant. Do the workup and see what they can find. It may be something as simple as a clotting issue, or something else that's treatable.
