To those who recommended the Tot Clock. Our mornings are fairly peaceful and at a reasonable hour now. I am hoping with another month to use it before new baby arrives, that she will become even more accustomed to seeing the blue face and not get upset when I get up with the newborn.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Re: Huge sincere thank you
my DD is obsessed with "Goldilocks" story and will often turn it on during the day. I am thinking of asking for another Tot Clock for DS's room for his 2nd b-day (from ILs).
Is this My Tot Clock the one you guys have?
Do you know if there are any big advantages of this one over the "OK to Wake" clock? It seems to be a lot cheaper.
DH made the mistake of saying that "It's time to sleep when it's dark..." Now, she wakes up super early and says "IT'S NOT DARK ANYMORE!!!" LOL I think we need one of these clocks for her.
yes, it's pricey but we love it. Not only does it change colors for waking/napping/nighttime/discipline (red and green) but it comes with a cartridge that reads a story and you can buy other stories. I believe it also plays music after the story but ours is turned off b/c DD does not like it.
If you go to the mytotclock homepage, the story behind the invention is pretty crazy, it took years!
Yes, the first one you listed is the one that was recommended to us and we purchased. It is not cheap and we are watching our expenses pretty closely right now. But, I was willing to fork over the money after reading the reviews.
I couldn't compare the two because I didn't look at the other one you listed. Sorry.
The features I like on the clock are the fact that it is in fact a clock. Eventually she could use it to learn to tell time. (Others I looked at just had a sun or moon, for example.) It has 5 different lights: wake time/yellow, bed time/blue, nap time/light blue, encouragement time/green and discipline/red time. I have yet to use the last two features, but the manual mentioned that you could use the encouragement light for sitting on the potty which I think will be helpful for us very soon. Some others I looked at had to be pulled in directly to the outlet and this one has a cord so I could move it onto her bedstand.
Good luck. I am sure it is not for everyone, but it has been a perfect fit for us!
