If you got one/ getting one.
We will have just enough to pay the credit card off, and I am overjoyed. I mentioned before I may withdraw it all just to roll naked in it, then deposit it again to pay the cc. This will be a huge burden off my shoulders.
I may set a little aside to get W a play kitchen off of craigslist for Easter too ;-)
Re: What are you doing w/ your tax refund?
We went and spent ours Saturday - we are getting a new couch (ours broke before Joshua was born and we have not had time/energy/money to deal with it) and a new bed with nightstands. We have had make-shift nightstands for so many years that I am thrilled to get a nice set of them.
Since we only had our state back we financed the balance (which is less than our Federal). I have a love/hate relationship with stores and their 18mo/no -interest deals.
I know, they keep running specials here where you get the 42 inch tv with a package, its so hard to go get it. Our couches stink. The foot rests dont even pop out anymore, the cords broke.
I hope you enjoy your new stuff!!!
Debt, then savings. We're lame. Though we'll probably put most of it in the house fund, which means that hopefully sometime this spring we'll get new floors and maybe counters in the kitchen, holla.
We actually get a pretty kick a$s amount back because DH doesn't claim enough dependents and I don't have a job. We have 3 possibilities of what we'll do, and they are of course my-job-dependent.
If I get a job offer (that doesn't get taken back because funding was cut), and it is local enough for us to stay put, we'll re-do the kitchen which looks like crap.
If I do not get a job offer I will probably take courses so that I can get my clinical certification and be a speech pathologist, in which case we will likely use the money for my tuition (unless I get enough financial aid to cover it).
If I get a job offer somewhere else, it might go into a house-buying fund.
I guess there are a couple of more options depending on the exact job situation, but it's generally either kitchen, school or house.
We bought a washer and dryer the milisecond the money hit our account. Since then we've bought a ton of storage units for our house. The place is a good size, but there's no built in storage so we had to buy shelves and tubs and all that good stuff.
We're also working on getting DD1's new room set up so we can get her old room ready for DD2. We bought a dresser, another crib/mattress, toy box, and decor.
Last, but not least, we went shopping for clothes for the whole family DH has been wearing the same shorts for 5 years and I finally convinced him to go buy some new ones. I needed warm weather maternity clothes. DD1 needed big girl clothes and DD2 got a couple front snapping rompers since she'll be a summer baby.
Maybe getting a new couch or paying off debt, depends on what we decide on after we move...
I haven't even started thinking about getting the taxes done. I wish I were more organized throughout the year so I didn't have to compile medical expenses. This year I think it'll matter for us so I have no choice.
If we get money (which we probably will) I'm not sure what we'll do. Guess it depends how much we're talking. I'm sure it'll go into the house in some way, shape, or form.
