I thought it might be a good time to reflect on what positive changes you've made over the year and what things you'd like to do next year.
So...
1. What changes have you made this year to make your life better for the planet?
2. What would you like to focus on next year.
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year??
?
Me.
1. We now shop organically and I buy all our veges/fruit/eggs/meat from the farmers market.
We've got out vege garden up and running which we garden organically.
2. Changes for next year: to only buy clothes and home furnishings that are ethical in some sense. Whether the clothes are second-hand, locally made, made from organic fabrics, or benefit a fair-trade co-op. (I'm leaving out bras. I simply can't source bras in this way).
3. End up year challenge. Set up a compost bin for our garden. Only buy ethical ?Christmas gifts.
?

2. What would you like to focus on next year. To use less "disposable" goods around the house such as plastic baggies, napkins and paper towels, Drive less, Buy more clothes and items second hand such as jogging stroller and highchair...
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year?? Keep up everything in the midst of moving and caring for my newborn...
1. What changes have you made this year to make your life better for the planet?
Switched to only eco-friendly cleaning products and personal care products (except for deodorant... still having trouble finding one that works). Started using reusable grocery bags. Before I got pg and started buying maternity clothes I was trying to buy organic cotton and fewer things new.
2. What would you like to focus on next year.
Once my baby is born I plan to CD and use cloth wipes, and breastfeed. Continue to phase out paper towel use as much as possible. I like KateLouise's plan to buy only ethical clothes and home furnishings- I'd like to do so as much as possible next year; it's a really good challenge. Go to the green market more often for local produce. Make things myself rather than buy when I can.
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year??
I plan to make a lot of the Christmas gifts we give, and the gifts I do buy will be handmade or otherwise eco-friendly. I also want to only use eco-friendly wrapping for gifts- either recycled paper, fabric, baskets, etc.
1. What changes have you made this year to make your life better for the planet? I'm just getting started, but we're recycling a lot more, use cloth napkins, almost eliminated paper towels, use more EF cleaning products & personal care products, started a vermicomposting bin in my classroom last year and have it at home now.
2. What would you like to focus on next year. Improving the worm bin, starting a compost bin outside, planting a garden, convert to more EF cleaning products (DH is a little slow to jump on that one!), more local produce.
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year?? Reduce/Reuse more during the holidays, use less disposable products, not complain quite as much about the house being cold and put on an extra layer!
1. What changes have you made this year to make your life better for the planet? Began using reusable shopping bags, doubled our recycling efforts, began using eco friendly laundry detergent and less water for washing clothes and have started researching other ways to easily change our lives to be more eco friendly
2. What would you like to focus on next year. Implement some of the things I am learning, commit fully to cloth diapering when Jack comes home from the NICU
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year?? Advocate some of my "crunchy hippie ways" to the parents of the kids at the daycare I work at - show them it's not so tough!
1. What changes have you made this year to make your life better for the planet? We began recycling all paper, magazines, etc. Replaced all toxic cleaners with non toxic Method cleaners. Replaced detergant with one that's all natural. Most of our produce comes from a co op we belong to--most of it is organic and is purchased from small, sustainable farmers. We don't buy water bottles and instead use Sigg bottles and filtered tap water.
2. What would you like to focus on next year. If we are blessed enough to get pregnant and have a baby in 2009, we'll cloth diaper. I'd like to grow a garden next year.
3. (optional set yourself a challenge): what do you aim to change/implement/do before the end of the year?? Start using cloth napkins? Remember to bring my reusable shopping bags to the supermarket every time!
