Juliana or Julianna

So we had originally narrowed down or list to two name Victoria and Julia. I however have been second guessing Julia because it seems a little too plain. I really like Juliana but not sure which way to spell it. It want it pronounced Julie-ah-na not Julie-annah. Also I figured we could use Julia as a NN. So which spelling is correct? I am assuming both can be used but I think the one N is correct for the pronunciation I want, Right?. TIA

    I agree with pp, but I have to say this is my favorite name!  I pushed and pushed, but couldnt get DH to agree!

    Juliana = Julie-ah-na... I think it's pretty.

    But I think Julia is classic (pretty much our top choice now) and would use that if you are just going to call her Julia anyway!!!!

    I agree - Juliana is the spelling for the pronunciation you want.  Pretty name, too.

    Ditto. I have Julia as one of our baby names, too. I'd nickname her "Jules" like in the movie "My Best Friend's Wedding." DH nixed the name "Juliana" because his aunt named "Ana" would think we named the baby to include her name. We don't want any of that! LOL

    Juliana is our name too! We couldn't agree on it for the longest time. He wanted Julianna and while the spelling didn't bother me, I wanted to make sure it was pronounced ahna. Dh gave me the best valentines gift and said i could have my way!

    For that pronunciation I would go with Juliana. We are naming our daughter Lilliana pronounced Lilly-ah-na. We went back and forth on the spelling, if it would be Lili or Lilli and if we would have ana or anna.

    I would go Juliana, if you want the ah-na pronunciation. With Julianna, visually, it's easier to split into Juli-anna, and people will pronounce it that way.
