I started Friday and so far so good. I joined about 6 years ago and lost 25 pounds. I know it works- as long as I stick to it. I am at the heaviest I have every been and Need to lose about 30 pounds to get to my goal weight, 40 to get the the holy crap, I've never been this thin weight.
Just looking to see if anyone was in the same boat and how Weight Watchers is going for you or if you have any low point foods to suggest that are yummy!
Re: anyone doing weight watchers?
I've been doing Weight Watchers for a year and love it. I've lost over 40lbs would probably be more if I didn't like Mcdonalds and candy so much. As long as you count every thing you should do great.
I eat a lot of lean cuisne and smart ones because there quick and already portioned for you.
I joined almost 3 weeks ago.. I really like it. I signed up for a 3 month thing. I like the recipes they have, and that you can build your own recipes.. works out pretty well. The first week I lost 3.5 pounds.. but the second week was valentines day.. opps.. so I gained .5 back. sad.. anyway, I'm working on my 3 rd week. My first goal is 10 pounds.. and next would be my wedding weight which would be another 10.
I like the LC and smart ones for lunches a few times a week..
low point foods.. I cut up and bake a carb control tortilla shell (2 points) add 1 tbl hummus.. for a 3 point snack.
fiber one brownies.. they are awsesome.. 2 points.. that with a cup of tea or coffee in the afternoon
nonna's (i think thats how its spelled)... there anisette biscotti are only 2 points
ww makes a premade jello.. thats 0 points! add a little bit of whip cream.. it will also keep it at 0 or maybe 1 point.
I like WW.. it keeps me honest.. when I stick to it.. like week 1.. I was great...
good luck!
I'm on my third round and love WW online; meetings just are NMS. I've had success on both the old points program and the newer version. The first round was because I just got comfy with DH and wanted to lose 20lbs before getting pg. The second round was a year ago after C was born; I honestly was over-ambitious and not focused, gave up 2mos in. This round I'm really excited and committed, and I've lost 12lbs since Christmas week. I'm also doing C25K, for a 5K run in early May, and Physique 57 for strength and toning, and now really starting to see results. I have 12lbs to go for my first goal, may try to lose 5-10more but that would be more cosmetic than necessary for me.
I love having egg whites ready in the fridge. Most mornings are an egg (over easy, or scrambled with egg whites veggies and low fat feta) along with a banana; then I'll have some sugar free oatmeal or greek yogurt mid morning at work. On the weekends I will prep/cut up veggies and fruit so omelets, salads, lunch packing and snacks are easy. I use my activity points daily, before using weeklies. I also find I lose weight much faster if I have 1-2 days a week where I go over my daily, activity and use 10-15 of the weekly points, then the other 5 days or so stick to just my daily points. Everyone is different, but my body seems to like it when I mix it up a bit, and I definitely enjoy the 'splurge' days. Good luck!
Some people probably can. I found I just slack off and I'm not as focused. I figure if I can spend $15 on Netflix, I can spend $18 taking care of myself with a program that works for me.
True- I would probably be more dedicated knowing I was paying for it!
Yay! Glad everyone likes it. And I agree with being in the program versus doing it on your own. I am definately more accountable and dedicated. I have been trying for the past 4 months on my own and haven't gotten anywhere. WW is accountability and motivation for me to not waste my money! I think it is $44 a month, but at this point, I don't care. I want to get this weight off!! Hopefully I will get to lifetime at the end of the road and then it will be free!
I follow WW on my own. A friend and I are doing it together and we hold each other accountable and have to email each other our weight every Monday. It works for us.
