anyone else fail a NST

So a couple of weeks ago I went to L&D for decreased fetal movement, and everything checked out okay.  I still don't really feel the baby move too much, so to be on the safe side, my Dr ordered me to go in for NST twice a week.  Today I had a NST and I failed :[.  They made me chug juice and even buzzed my stomach, but the baby was just not waking up.  I had to go get a BPP and finally passed that in 25 minutes (they give you to 30).  I am so upset and stressed that there is something wrong with my baby.  So my questions are, has anyone else gone through something like this?  And if does anyone know what would have happened if I did fail my BPP?  TIA!

    This one fails the NST almost every time. I think once out of like 5 times we passed without needing the BPP. Always passes the BPP.

    I try not to let it get to me. Sometimes they just need to BPP to see what they need to.

    After I got diagnosed with pre-e I had to go for a BPP. Our little girl is crazy stubborn and does not like to move for the ultrasound tech. We were in there for a good 20 minutes waiting for her to reach the required amount of movements. After that I did an NST and the nurse kept telling me what a quiet baby LO is. I had to drink juice and change my position a few times. I didn't fail but passed with the minimum and was just told that some babies move more then others. Of course my LO is never too active in the morning so that has something to do with it. Hope this helps, my thoughts when I go for things like this "If something was wrong with the baby, the doctors would let me know". No doctor wants to risk the health of a baby or mother. If you have concerns though, ask your doctor for reassurance.

    I failed 2 NSTs with my first pregnancy, at around 35 weeks.  DD wasn't displaying the appropriate accels/decels in her heart rate, her heart rate was too high, and my BP was high.  In my case the NST's were in the doctors office, so when I failed they sent me to L&D for more extensive monitoring and testing.

    At L&D things improved, and I passed BPPs later on.  I passed my NSTs for the rest of the pregnancy with flying colors and went full term.  I would imagine if you continue to "fail" your doctors would begin to weigh the advantages/consequences of inducing early versus keeping the baby inside.

    my lo failed the first one I had and passed the second one we did a week later...both times I had to go for 40 minutes instead of 20... so even when I passed it wasnt a "good pass" the time I failed they sent me for an ultrasound and once I layed on my side the baby did what they wanted to and I passed. so the second NST I laid on my side and the baby was kicking like crazy and I thought for sure I was good..to find out that the heart rate thing wasnt working right while I was on my side and I had to lay straight on my back and he just doesnt kick nearly as much as when I am on my side. soooo...I would say see if next time you can lay on your side if you have another one..and when you did the ultrasound they said everything was fine and they wouldnt have sent you home if it wasnt so try not to worry...which I know is easier said then done because I did the same thing when I failed I worried all weekend and that was over two weeks ago and the baby is kicking like crazy and every US looks good! soo try not to worry

    thanks guys!  I am just so worried and I am trying not to.  Every NST I have had so far, I have been buzzed in order to get the baby to react the way they want her to.  Today nothing was getting her moving, and in the ultrasound, the nurse had to keep pushing on the stomach to get any sort of movement from her.  My anxiety is just through the roof right now.  I know I am over reacting, but I keep feeling like something is wrong, and inside of me is not the best place for the baby right now (even though I know it is).  I can just tell I am going to have my hands full with this one!

    I have a nst & bpp twice a week. I have never failed a bpp, but the babies heart rate dropped below 100bpm last monday & got sent to the er to be monitored on a fetal monitor for 4 hours. IM sure they would send you to the er to be mnitored for a few hours if not edven over night, if you fail both
