Pretty Sure I have created a Disaster!!!! HELP

Ladies, from the get go my twin girls have been sleeping in their Fisher Price vibrating bouncy chairs, in the crib.  They are 4 months old tomorrow and are starting to get too big for their chairs.  I need to transition them to the crib.  Problem with this is....the crib mattress doesn't vibrate and is not COZY! :)

Anyone have suggestions on doing this?

The girls sleep swaddled, so I will keep that up.

  • I imagine it's going to be a transition like ours was from the swing (that was the only place she would sleep until about 4 months old too, when we transitioned to the crib).

    my advice:

    1) start having them sleep without the vibration on, so they'll get used to sleeping still first, but still be in their chairs.  Then once they have that down, you can try to get rid of the chair.

    2)  introduce (if you haven't already) some other sleep cues that can work regardless of chair or crib.  We turn on the sleep sheep and she knows that means sleep time, no matter where she is (stroller, crib, car seat).  You can introduce this cue now, while they're still in their cozy environment, and then when you take the chairs away, the cue will still be there, so they won't be all "WTF - this is totally new!".

    3) We inclined the mattress during the transition because she was used to sleeping at an angle and not flat on her back, so that could help too.

  • So this might sound harsh but I'm a rip band aid off fast kinda gal. We transitioned DD and sleep trained at the same time. One night we just said well here goes. Unswaddled, out of bassinet and into crib. It was a rough two nights but now she is GOLDEN.
