Those with 2 kids in one room...

How is it working for you? Tonight is our first time putting baby in with our almost 3 yr old. My 3 yr old went down at 7:30 and we just went in and put baby down now....should be interesting! Any tips? How is it going?

  • I am interested in here the responses. We will be doing this with our kids once the new baby is ready to be in the crib.

  • My DD's share a room. They are 15 months apart. DD2 slept in our room until she was 4 months and had been sleeping through the night consistently. For the transition, we always put DD1 to bed first. Then about 30min to an hour later we would take DD2 in. If DD1 was still awake we made no eye contact. We just went in, laid baby down & left. Any interaction with DD1 would cause issues. We have only really had them bother each other a hand full of times. It was so much better than I had feared. Now it doesn't matter what order we put them to bed & occasionally we are even coordinated enough to put them down at the same time. I love that they share a room. Now they keep each other occupied in the mornings for a little while so DH & I have time to prepare for our day before getting the girls. GL!
