Ours were 35w1d. I can't recall offhand exactly when they smiled, but I do remember it was more in line with adjusted age milestones in weeks than actual. At 6 mo though, they're all caught up (thankfully).
My LO seems to be flying past all the expectations they had for her. She is 5 weeks actual today and is up for about 6 hours or more throughout the day, holds her head up and looks around, sleeps through the night with only 1 feeding and gaining over an ounce a day. I initially thought she'd be behind a bit but now I find myself just staring at her all day hoping she''ll smile.
My LO was 35 weeks exactly. I always thought he smiled early, but I know sometimes parents 'see' smiles when they're due to other things. However, the first time I knew, without a doubt, was when he was about 7 weeks. The dog jumped up next to us and sniffed LO's ear. He grinned ear to ear! They're still BFF ha ha.
I think she smiled around 6 weeks but laughed later than most. My friend had a daughter with the same due date who was born 3 weeks earlier than my DD, though, and her LO didn't smile until much later. (In actual dates. So our DD's were technically 3 weeks apart in age, but same due date, and my LO smiled in mid January, while hers didn't smile until like February, if that makes sense.)
Every baby is different!
My LO ended up being a early bird for physical milestones but later for most social/verbal milestones.
My twins were 35w2d and they smiled and laughed in accordance with their adjusted age. By 4/5 months, they seemed to be caught up with their actual age and don't have any lasting delays.
