Trying to Get Pregnant

Does anyone use OPKs while at work?

Just curious since it seems some of you use 2 per day and wondering if you have to do one or both while not at home.

I am starting cycle #3 and used the First Response OPK that had 7 tests (not good for more than 1 x per day for one cycle) and was contemplating getting the cheaper ones on amazon to test more than once during the day.  I really have no reason to test 2x's since I did get 2 positive days but I'm just looking to try something different (and maybe do 2 different brands to compare products).

What do you do while at work?  I work in an office with a private bathroom so it's not impossible.

Re: Does anyone use OPKs while at work?

  • I did test at work this last cycle.  The nurse at my RE's office wanted me to use CBD digi OPKs between 11am-2pm.

I do not have a private bathroom, but there are only 3-4 other women that use the restroom on the floor I work on.

  • I test at work sometimes.  We only have bathrooms with multiple stalls.  I put the OPK packet in my belt and put my shirt over it to get to the bathroom. Sometimes I will just wait the 5min out in the bathroom.  Other times I will bring an empy box of gum and put the stick back in it for transporting back to my desk.

  • I haven't done any at work, but I'm seriously considering it if we go on to cycle #8.

  • I teach and have to use the school bathrooms in the a.m.  I take a Dixie cup with me in my purse, pee in the cup, wait a few minutes for the results. Not fun, but it's no big deal.

The empty gum box idea is genius!

  • Yep, I have been testing while at work for the past few weeks. I have a private restroom so it's no big deal. I just stick it in my pocket on the way to the restroom and wait the 4-5 minutes in the bathroom.

  • My work has bathrooms with a few stalls...I had a tiny little purse that I normally keep tampons in.  I keep 5 OPks (enough for the week) and a tiny little medecine cup (like from a bottle of nyquil).  Once I pee in the little cup and dip the stick I dump the pee back out and clean it with tp (I clean it out better at home).  Sometimes I stay in there long enough to read it, but lately it seems I am always in there when the cleaning guy comes by.

If I don't wait, I just put the stick back in the wrapper, back in my purse and discreetly check the results back at my desk.

What a sneaky little way to do it! Awesome!

  • I just hide some dixie cups in the cabinet in the bathroom (guess if someone saw them maybe they would think it's for like mouthwash or something) and I just put the test back in the package, hide in pocket and bring it back to my desk until it's done. Or I just wait in the bathroom, people may think you're pooping but really, who cares.
  • I don't regularly test at work, but I have done it. We have private bathrooms, so I just steal a dixie cup from the pharmacy (where I work) and sneak it into the bathroom.

  • I don't normally use the dip stick OPKs at work, but you ladies have given me some wonderful ideas. Thanks!
