Is it just me (scheduling)

I'm trying to schedule the week to stay busy, since it is Feb break for the kids and I don't want to just sit around all day.

Anyway I've told a couple people what days I still have open, and one replied that Mon or Tues works.  I e-mailed her back that I'm down to just Monday, and she hasn't gotten back to me.

... so .. what do I do?  Go ahead and make other plans?  I'm going to be really annoyed if she leaves me hanging and I have nothing else planned.

Is it just me though?  I want to schedule out my week and people don't seem to want to commit til like the day/night before, if they even get back to me.  Even if I know something is a sure thing, then I don't know what time we're meeting, so for instance DD has a dental appt on Tuesday and another mom invited us over, but I have no idea what time I'm supposed to go.. so then I don't want to be a jerk and cancel because it turns out it was a conflict.

I'm frustrated.

    I go through this ALL of the time.  Especially on school breaks.  I like my time planned and most of my friends are teachers (some working and some on leave) and some of their DHs are as well.  I only get to see them on breaks and summer, so it is super frustrating.  So far we have like nothing planned for next week and my kids and I are already SUPER bored.  At some point you have to just go ahead and plan I think.  I mean, COME ON, it is already Sunday.  I feel your pain!

    I think your email back should have been. Monday works for me - we'll see you at 10am or whatever time you wanted. That firms it up better. She said mon or tues works so that would have given you better plans and then I would assume your playdate is on unless she cancelled it.

    But the way it is now - maybe call her to find out a time. What were your plans? If you were meeting somewhere, still go even if she cancels. If you were going to play at her or your house, just come up with a back up activity

    Just to clarify too.. it is when it comes down to the last minute and I'm left hanging.  So is someone going to be here at 9am tomorrow?  Do I need to clean?  Or can I make other plans.. chances are my other friends have booked up their schedules if I call them tonight.

    I usually firm things up the night before, when I make plans with people.  I usually just prepare as if they are coming over/us going there, and if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, and then the house being clean may be a bonus :)  If they do not pull through, just have a back up plan for you to do with the just you and the girls, no big deal.  SInce having kids, I don't get hung up on scheduling stuff, as things can just change so quickly.
