We have a VW Golf and the Chicco Keyfit 30. It is a snug fit but I think the camry is a bit bigger in the back. You could try the Snugride because I think it is smaller than the Keyfit.
I think there is a website that helps you decide on a car seat based on your car - hopefully someone will link it for you.

We have a Nissan Altima which is a similar size. We have the Britax B-Safe & it fits with no problems. Have you gone to BRU too try the seats? (they'll let you take them out to your car to test them)
The site that pp is thinking of for looking up this info is gone. I would look at using a seat that allowed the handle to be in the "up" position if you want to gain space (Snugride can do this, and a few others). Ask on car-seat.org, they have experience with most common makes and models of cars, vs seats that fit and install well.
We're getting the keyfit 30 for our 2 camrys. We tried the chaperone but the seats couldn't go back very far. For us, it's no biggie because we're not tall people but any tall friends would have needed to sit in the back if we had gotten that one. I say make a list of your top 2 or 3 seats then go try them out in your car. That's what helped us decide between the chaperone and the keyfit.

We have a 2005 and 2012 Camry and the keyfit 30 fits nicely in both. Of course, we put the carseat in the middle though.
