After a very rocky last few days in the hospital, the little ones have arrived. Mel labored for 10 hours last night and ended up with a c-section this AM b/c they were both breech.
Our son, Gabriel Lucas was born first at 0829 weighing 4# 6oz and 17.75." Our daughter, Isabella Grace was born at 0830 weighing 4# 10oz and 17.75." He had a lil elevated temp & low BS but otherwise they're both doing so well. They haven't needed any respiratory intervention so that's great.
Mel is understandably exhausted, as am I. They're in special care nursery. Hopefully they won't be here more than 2-3 weeks. They say to plan for 36 weeks gestation. Just wanted to update & thank everyone for the happy thoughts. I am so in love with them already.
Here they are together, right after the NICU staff took them from the OR and got them cleaned.
This is Gabriel
This is Isabella

So Cute!
Good luck with your NICU stay! I hope you are able to board. We did when our little guy was remaining in the NICU and it was so nice being able to get to him every 3 hours for his feeds. Our DD stayed with us once she was discharged so it was very interesting learning how to balance both babies needs in different settings a few day's into it.
Can't wait to see more pic's!
