I was going to post on Toddlers +24 months but I never do anything over there so I thought it would be like when girls come here say "its a girl" and then never come back again so bare with me! ![]()
I need to buy more M&Ms. DS has been peeing on the potty a ton the last few days and today HE POOPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never been so excited about a pile of crap!
Re: Moms of toddlers- celebrate with me!!!!!!
Wow! That's fantastic! My son is still not very interested in potty training. Everyone once in a while he will pee on the potty, but most of the time he won't even sit on it.
Are you trying a certain method?
I am doing the naked method. LOL actually no method at all really but I just let him run around naked and then stuck the frog potty in the living room so he really doesn't have to stop playing to sit on it. I've been reminding him every 20 minutes to sit. If he sits he gets an M&M no matter if he goes or not. If he pees he gets two M&M if he poops he gets three M&Ms. Before Friday he had only sat on the potty twice. I could never get him to stop long enough to sit on it. He had only peed once. On Friday he went pee 10 times on it and yesterday he went 5 times (and then we were running around a lot so he got a diaper) Then today I saw the poop face on him (you know that face) and I just told him that if he pooped on the potty he could have three M&Ms.
I'm prepared to go backward but I'm enjoying him at least sitting on the potty
Yay! That is exciting!
Last week, out of nowhere, DS peed AND pooped three nights in a row on the big potty! Then, Friday night he pooped on the floor next to the toilet and last night he pooped in the bathtub. So.....I guess we'll see!
I am encouraged by the fact that he initiated it completely by himself, though. I should probably invest in some M&M's, too. Good luck!
That's a huge milestone!! Congratulations! When we ask Ada if she wants to sit on the potty she very casually says, "Nope".
EDD 1/31/11 m/c 6/21/11 miss you little circus peanut.
That is exciting! I never understood how exciting each milestone of potty training could be until attempting it with my son. Pooping on the potty is a huge step!
We just reached a big milestone with DS this last month. We are now completely diaper free! We potty trained him right after he turned 2, but he just recently started to hold it at night.
That's huge!! Congrats, I can't even get my almost 3yr old to pee on the potty daily.
Congrats!
We did the 3 day method last Memorial day weekend and I though M&Ms were going to be our go-to candy but DS ended up responding better to smarties.
