Cutting LO's nails

This board is DEAD!  Anyway, just venting about clipping my daughter's nails.  I literally cut them every other day and they grow back so fast.  Even when they are freshly cut and super short, they are still so sharp!  She inevitably scratches herself, and of course, it's usually her face.  I even file them after I cut them to get them smooth.  I really hope they don't always grow this fast.  I feel lucky that she at least stays semi-still for me, but man, it is a chore!

Anyone else have a baby with super crazy fast-growing fingernails??  Lol.

    First:  Yes, action on this board has definitely slowed down! 

    And a second yes:  DD nails grow crazy fast and while she never scratches herself, she loves to grab at mine and DH's face and we get scratched!

    Ohhh, yesss!  I forgot to add that to my vent... she claws at everyone's face lately!  And when I nurse her, she claws any skin that may be showing, haha.

    crazy nail growing abilities over here, too. I try to cut them while he's in the tub. It seems to be his most mellow time of day.

    I dread cutting P's nails! And yes, it's like every other day. And yes, they are super sharp no matter what I do. And no, she doesn't stay still for me. Her arms and legs are always flapping away anytime I try to get near them. Sometimes if my husband distracts her she will stay still for like 30 seconds and I get work dooone! But that's like 1 out of 5 times.

    Yup. It is like wrestling an alligator to file or trim DD's nails. Needless to say, I do them maybe once a week or every other week, even though they are getting long. It doesn't matter if DH helps to distract her. The only time I can actually file them without a wrestling match is when she sleeps in my lap, which is hardly ever (once the past 3 months).

    After I feed her just before I put her in her crib for the night. She is usually asleep or mello enough not to care and I can get them done quick. They grow like crazy too.

    OMG my boobslook like Edward scissor hands got at them..it hurts and I feel like I'm cutting her nails every other day.

    Funny you mention this. I just got done with my little thrasher Sharks nails. It is so hard to do and his little hands get so clammy and he wiggles around and whimpers to stop the procedure. I feel so bad when I do it. I feel as if I am hurting him. Plus they are like little Freddy Krueger claws and he is always going for my face :-(. I hope it gets easier as they get older.

    Yes its slow!!

    And I haven't cut G's nails the babysitter does it for me because I am scared too...lol

    O has eagle claws and I find I end up chewing off his finger nails when I bf, but those evil toe nails. I am so afraid of the nail clipper since I had a mishap the first time. Tose little suckers grow like weeds and he loves to kick!Sad
