Babies: 9 - 12 Months

rec your bath seat

my daughter has outgrown her tub so i want to start giving her baths in the big tub,  she will most likely be taking baths at the same time as my son so i thought it would be easier if she had a seat to sit in.  please let me know any seat that you have found good.  i have a textured tub so i feel like if will be hard for suction cups to stick.  thanks.

  • Why don't you just try it without one first and see how it goes?
    I married a ginger.

  • We don't use a seat. Now that DS can crawl if you try to confine him to something like a seat, he just flails around until he manages to get out of it. I think that is probably much less safe than just letting him sit in the tub. He does absolutely fine just like that.

Also, quite often one of us takes him in the shower while we are in it. It works really well, and might be an idea if it doesn't work out for you to bathe both little ones at once.

  • like i had said my 2 children will most likely be taking baths together, so i think it would be easier.
  • I use this one: https://www.summerinfant.com/Products/Bathing/Baby-Bathers/Mother-s-Touch?-Deluxe-Baby-Bather-(1).aspx I am sure she is too big for it now, but we use it just for soaping her up after she's played in the tub, and then if I am alone and need to shower she sits in it, in the shower. She loves it, Plus it folds up so that is a big space saver. They might make something similar for older babies, I just haven't looked into it yet.

  • If you will be bathing 2 kids, i'd definitely get a seat!!  P had his 1st bath in the big tub last night without any mat/seat and it didn't go well. He slipped under the water and is probably traumatized for life. I am buying a seat or mat TODAY!

Obviously you can't leave LO or even look away for a second, but a seat will surely help- especially with 2 kids in a tub.

I don't have recs, but if I find a good one today, i'll reply again  Smile

  • I don't have this seat but have seen it recommended on here before.

  • DS has been in the big tub without a seat since 6 months when he started sitting up. He has done great and he is crazy in the tub.  Most of the time big sister gets in with him.
