Pedi office q

Every time I call the pedi's office, I am put on hold.  The other morning I was on hold for at least 15 minutes.  DH was watching the kids and he kept thinking I was off the phone.. nope.

Then I took DD in to see the Dr on Friday, and they said they were going to call Saturday morning to check in with me.  (Her eye was almost swollen shut and they had NO idea why).  They have Sat hours 9-12 for emergencies, and I didn't get a call, so I called to talk to the triage nurse and the phone rang probably 30x and no answer.

Does this happen to you guys too?  It is just very frustrating to always be on hold like that, I mean I guess I expect it from Drs offices but I was trying to talk to a nurse to decide if DD should go to school and the hold time eats into my schedule.  Note - I otherwise love this pedi's office, and I don't expect instant satisfaction, but I can't remember ever not being on hold over the past 5 years.

  • Nope, that would frustrate me too. Although for mine, I call to ask the nurse, but ALWAYS have to leave a message. Never once can I talk to a nurse when I call. Sometimes I get a call back within 30 minutes, sometimes it takes a couple hours. And even worse is when I miss their call back and have to play phone tag.

  • Nope.  Never put on hold for more than just a minute or so.  I rarely get to speak with a nurse when I call, sometimes they check with a nurse to see if I should come in, other times they have a nurse call me back.  Usually within 15 minutes or so.  Any time I have called the triage nurse, I have always gotten through and get a call before the office even opens the next day.  If it is an appointment follow up, usually the Dr calls me herself.
  • We never get put on hold, as the nurse calls us back. We have never waited more than 15 minutes for a call back. When we leave a message, the receptionists takes all the details for the nurse to look at.

  • I may get put on hold for like less than a minute, so that they can finish another dall, but not long at all.  Usually I get through to a nurse pretty quickly or they call back promptly.
