Hello Ladies!
My Doc office is closed so I thought that I would post this question here. Next best thing! My Step-daughter was with us last weekend and she started feeling badly last Saturday. I asked that she keep her distance from the baby but I caught her holding and her and even saw her giving a kiss on the cheek. Fast forward to this week, she has been at her mothers at home with a high fever all week. they finally got chest x-rays today and she has been diagnosed with pneumonia and given antibiotics. She is OK and on the upswing.
My question is, would I know by now if my baby girl was to catch the pneumonia since she was exposed a week ago? Is pneumonia contagious or is it just a cold that turns bad with a particularly run down person? Any insight would ease my mind...or make me worry depending of the answer I guess!
Thanks in advance!
Re: Pneumonia Exposure
It usually develops from another illness, so you want to watch if your lo gets a cold.
My OB was totally fine with me being around my grandmother when I was pregnant and she had pneumonia. I think you're fine.
