I am 40 weeks and 3 days, I went to the doctors yesterday and they did the membrane sweep. HOLY CRAP THAT HURT. I am 70% effaced and 1cm dilated. I had braxton hicks contractions for a couple hours after that. I woke up a couple of times last night with some mild cramping, this morning I got up to pee and lost my mucus plug. The light cramping is now back again this morning. Im hoping this means that things are moving along! I am ready to have my little girl here!

    I hope it does not you.  I had it done on Tuesday at 1cm/ 30% effaced, lost MP from Tuesday- Thursday and nothing for me yet.

    They stripped my membranes on Monday. I had lots of discharge all week, but still nothing. They scheduled me for induction at the hospital this morning, but the hospital was too full to take me, so I'm still waiting for them to tell me when to come in. I had my membranes stripped twice with my daughter and nothing happened. :) Good luck! Hopefully it works better for you than it does for me.

    Fingers crossed for you!!! With DS the dr attempted to sweep my membranes (I wasn't even 1cm which is what most dr's need to do it) and had bloody discharge all afternoon and evening then my water broke the next morning. I'm hoping for even a bit of progress for my appt on wednesday so the dr can try for this baby before my husband has to go back to work.
