So, you guys know that Kate doesn't sleep. Like ever. I think she's napped about once a week for the past 6 months. She tends to nap about 1 1/2 to 2 hours when she does nap.
The past 4 days in a row, Kate has slept from 1-5. Um, that's 4 hours in a row. She's never napped like this. I keep taking her temperature- nothing. I was out running errands when she woke up from her nap, and DH said she was still exhausted. In fact he let her watch a movie because she was so tired.
She's much more alert now, but still kind of whiney. The whininess has been going on for a while, but I've been attributing it to molars and being 2.
Thoughts? She's been great in the mornings, but then so tired in the afternoons.
Re: Extreme Sleepiness- worrisome?
My first thought? Growth spurt.
Second thought? The weather. DD is always zonked out when the weather gets all rainy.
If she doesn't have a temperature and is generally "okay" then I wouldn't worry about it.
OMG, I feel better already. I called my mom and described the symptoms. Her response? "Well, your brother had mono when he was 4." I thought I was going to have a panic attack.
rookie mistake, calling mom about symptoms always yields terrifying revelations
H goes through sleepy spells when he has a growth spurt or when he got molars. If she's acting fine otherwise and no temp, I'd not be too worried and enjoy the cuddles
My second thought was allergies. When mine flare up it wipes.me.out. I remember you said she's allergic to mold, right? With all the rain I bet the counts are through the roof. Even if she's getting regular allergy meds if the counts are super high it might not be enough to suppress all allergy symptoms.
Now granted, you know I probably get the least amount of sleep of anyone you know but - I haven't been able to stay awake the last 3 days either. I went to bed at 9 last night. Then napped from 1-5 and I fell asleep during Tosh about an hour ago. About to brush my teeth and go back to bed.
I blame the mold and the weather.
