And I hope everyone has a sitter and fabulous plans to go to a four-star restaurant. Alas, we're in for the night.
BUT! I'm making my favorite soup. Beef vegetable from scratch, no canned broth, just soup bones, veggies, water and seasonings. It's sooooooo yummy and it has to simmer forever, so the house smells fantastic.
Anyone else planning something good?

Re: WFD?
No!
I did a big couponing shopping trip this morning and my store was out of 2 of my main dishes. I'll have to go to another store. Of course I have other things I can make, but none that I deem "Saturday Night Worthy". So I'm just not sure.... probably pizza. Exciting, I know.

I am making my easy orzo salad. It's more of a summer salad, but for some reason I'm craving it all the time, so it's on heavy rotation in this house right now.
Combine:
1 1/2 cups orzo, cooked1/4 c olive oil
2 tbs red wine vinegar
10 or so cherry tomatoes, chopped
1 cup (canned) artichoke hearts, chopped
1/2 c parsley
1 tsp lemon zest
salt and pepper to taste
sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese
That sounds great! That's next on my "new things to try" list...making broth from scratch
Tonight we're going out to dinner, DD1's choice for her b-day. Last night she said McDonalds
so I'm hoping I can persuade her to chose someplace else... we'll probably give her a few good options and let her pick from those

I am so sick! I have a terrible cold. I offered to babysit for my SIL&BIL tonight and would feel so bad backing out. DH said he would take over and watch all three kids. SIL said her kids wanted McDonalds and asked if we wanted any, I said yes for DS. DS rarely gets to eat McDonalds and if the kids are sitting here eating nuggets and fries he would go crazy! haha! I made the kids strawberry shortcake from scratch for dessert; I really hope they have fun.
DH and I are going to order Thai food, I really have no appetite but will try to eat something.
We are having a date night! We are going to a Mexican restaurant that I have been dying to try, I have heard rave reviews about it.
I cannot wait to sit with my H, have some wine, good conversation and yummy food

My LO is 9 months old today, so I wanted to make him something special. DH is working, so it is me, LO, and my 10 yr old brother for dinner. I spent an hour making homemade ravioli (a first for me), and LO loved it. LB, not so much, but he isn't my kid. Haha.
I made two kinds, one with sweet peppers and chicken in it, and the other with venison and spinach. Topped with tomato sauce. It was so good.

This sounds FABULOUS!
the kids had grilled chicken, seashell pasta, steamed broccoli all tossed with some oil and grated parm cheese
DH and I are having wings and beer after they go to bed lol.
Oooooh Eagles- which one? Have you ever tried Tamarindo's in Skippack? They don't have a liquor license so they give their freshly made margarittas away FOR FREE. I kid you not. We go there often lol. Their food is REALLY authentic and so fresh.
Seriously??? I might make the drive to check it out (after baby comes of course). :-)
Dead seriously!!! It is a BRILLIANT business model- give away free liquor... they will come ... in DROVES! Pup- if you do that- I will buy you dinner!
lol P-burg and Philly burbs are worlds away- but if you come Mal- lol I will buy you dinner too!!!
 Free Ritas for the bump!
Mal- I will buy you dinner and put you up for the night - I think free margarittas with the two of us = trouble!
Definitely Someday!!!
Stacy, we went to Xilantro in Wayne. It was really good! I had red Sangria, which was a little too sweet for my taste, but then I had a couple glasses of Malbec which were perfect. I had a delicious ensalada mixta, with romaine, spring mix, avocado, tomato, chihuahua cheese and a yummy tamarind dressing. I also had the pez cuernavaca - a grouper fillet with shrimp, spinach, asparagus and rice in a garlic lemon butter sauce. It was really yummy
Never been to that place in Skippack. For authentic mexican I go to Laz Cazuelas in my old neighborhood in the city. That is the best Mexican I ever had, hands down
