Thoughts on Crew Murphy??

Ok--now that i can finally type--for some reason ipad wouldnt let me--

Hubby and I love everything involving the ocean and boating--wanted a somewhat Nautical Name.  We don't want a crazy name that no one has ever heard of or will have a hard time spelling..don;t think that's fair to the kid--But definitely don;t want a very common name(michael, jacob, thomas,etc...).  Murphy is our last name--Middle name will be after my father--

Thought Crew was cute.

    I know two babies named Crew.  It's not my style at all, and I think it sounds a little like you're trying too hard.  There are better "manly" and cool names without making something up.  What about: Rhys, Everett, Hank, Max, Miles, Brooks, Levi, Oscar, Jude, Silas, Elias, or Cole? (just some ideas...)

    I don't care for it. As others have said, I could definitely see a celebrity using this name, and I do feel like you are trying too hard to be "cool" and "different." Kudos for not screwing with the spelling though!

    I kinda dig Crew, as a guilty pleasure. But I also love Sailor for a girl. Guess I am a fan of water sports.

    But I would never use it.

    Pregnant 5/2011 - Miscarriage at 6 weeks due to triploidy

    Decided to be "One and Done"

    ....OR NOT.
    Pregnant 12/2018 despite birth control pills

    Crew Murphy sounds like Crew is an adjective modifying someone named Murphy. Like a nn or something.

    "When we want help building sets for our plays, we call on Crew Murphy for our stage crew." 

    I don't think it's terrible just nms.

    Hi Kelly--thanks for the reply--Husband and I love boating and anything involvig the water..For 4 years i was planning on naming my little girl Sailor and then when we finally did get pregnant...it was a boy!  I still want something nautical and came across Crew--Murphy is our last name.

    You understand because you like the water as well.....

     Also-wanted to mention--I had 4 IUI's Fail and went to IVF--luckily it took first try.  Your little bundle is not far behind--best of luck with everything.

    I personally like unique names like this. Listen - if you're asking the opinions of the average person, they are not going to like anything that's not Elizabeth or Michael, or otherwise on the top 10 most popular names. That's just how it goes. Most people give their kids the most popular name they can so they feel like they fit in. I prefer not to fit in. ;-)

    Um yeah okay.

    OP: Crew is NMS, but it's not the worst name I've ever seen on here.
