I just started really charting this cycle (#7). And now that I know what my body is doing, I am looking back at my last 6 cycles and realizing how bad our timing has been!! There was only 1 previous cycle that I would consider pretty good timing, the rest were definitely less than ideal. I don't want to get my hopes up for this cycle, but I am SO glad to finally be in tune with my body!! Yay for charting!!!

Re: Why didn't I start charting earlier??

Yes, unless I chart, I risk horrible timing. Sometimes I ovulate as early as CD10, and sometimes I ovulate as late as CD18. So OPK's help me too.
When we aren't doing fertility treatments, we pretty much just have sex every other day once my period ends until my temperature shift.

Yes! It is so great to have some "control" in an otherwise completely out of your control situation!
I hear you! As much as I hate shoving that thermometer in my mouth when I wake up, it's awfully nice to feel like I know what's going on. I wouldn't call it control--but it certainly feels like I'm taking charge of the process for the first time!
