Trouble TTC

Spoiled myself today....

With brand new 500 thread count sheets. I always buy my sheets at Target, and I've never splurged. But I had some birthday money, so decided to spend a little on myself today. I am ready to go to bed, and it's 1:30pm on the East Coast.

  • Love this post!  So glad you did something nice for yourself.  My therapist actually recommended planning in little self-pampering things for my next IVF cycle... I've already got a haircut scheduled for my first day of stims, and I'm figuring out who I want to invite for a mani/pedi the following week.  This post definitely inspired me to check out sheets... :)

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

  • The sheets sound amazing! I'd be ready for bed, too!

  • I used to feel guilty about pampering myself. I thought it wasn't worth spending the money, or the time, or whatever. But I came to realize that sometimes you NEED that stuff in your life, especially when you're going through a difficult situation. Even little things can really make a big difference. Enjoy your sheets!

  • Thats awesome! You should definitely check out the Pure Beech Jersey sheets at Bed Bath & Beyond. They are pricey, which is why I only buy one set every few years haha but they are the most amazing sheets I have ever slept on in my life haha.

Good for you for spoiling yourself a little.

It was actually between those and the set that I got. I chose the set that I bought because it has a Damask print, and I didn't want just a plain sheet. My duvet cover is a ticking stripe, and I need a little "something" on my sheets so that my bed doesn't look so plain.

I may have also splurged on an Egyptian cotton blanket...lol.

  • Enjoy your new sheets. You deserve them!

Believe it or not my husband is actually the picky one over sheets. He tells me I better not bring home anything less than 500 thread count. Right now we have 800 thread count sheets on our bed and he's obsessed! Ha!

That is too funny! When I bought mine about two weeks ago, the Damask ones were on the other side of the regular Pure Beech ones and I kept turning in circles trying to decide which to buy haha. I need a new soft blanket for my bed!

DH always says he's so hot and hates having the sheet, blanket, and down comforter - and yet when I wake up in the middle of the night freezing its because he's completely wrapped in all three haha He loves bedding as much as I do.
