Hey ladies - wondering if anyone has experience at Swim Kids? They recently opened one near me and I've been thinking about it for our 22 month old. I'd like him to actually learn something and not just pay $90 a month for an hour a week of play time. (I'm realistic, not expecting my 2 year old to swim laps, but he can play in the tub at home for free)
I don't personally, but I have 2 friends who have used them in PW county and have been thrilled. Their kids took rec center classes too, and they really felt like Swim Kids made a big difference, more individualized attention, etc. We're hoping to sign DS up at some point this year.
I take my 2 year 9 month old daughter to the Gainesville location. We started about 3 months ago, and she is in the "SwimBabies" class which is 3 and under. First of all, she has a great time. I sometimes feel as if the class is a little too young for her (about half of the 30 minute class is singing songs as a group) but she has learned a few great skills and has gotten more comfortable with being submerged. I think that 2.5 was a great age to start, because she will have built up the confidence and basic skill set needed to graduate to the next level when she turns 3. I agree that it's a but pricey, but I would definitely say it is worth it.
