Social Stories?

ASD Moms ... have any of you used Social Stories to aid your ASD child in day to day functions?  Any success?  I'm looking into some resources to help a child in my care and it was suggested that I try Social Stories.  I'm just wondering if anyone has had success.

    We just heard about social stories from our SLP and haven't yet tried them. I don't think DS is quite ready for them, but we are definitely not ruling them out. We are just using PECs and hoping to incorporate social stories in a few months.

    Ahhh, thank you for posting this!  DS's teacher has told me he seems to be responding well to social stories in school so I want to try a few for outside-of-school situations...first up to tackle is getting a haircut.
