Clicking in stomach? (weird I know)

This is going to sound totally bizarre, and the first couple times it happened, I didn't believe it myself.  It started happening very sporadically but now it is 2-3 times a day for the last few days.  Basically I can hear/feel a little click coming from my stomach area, but deep, almost towards my back.  It sounds like if you would crack a knuckle - only muffled!  It's definitely not gas or a hunger rumble.  It's a definite click.  Does anyone else get this?  Its not that I'm very concerned, I just think it's strange and wonder if anyone else has experienced this!

  • I never had this, but I have read a couple of other posts describing this exact same thing. Weird!

Oh at least I'm not the only one!  That makes me feel slightly better!  PS. Due date twins!

I just did a search out of curiosity and Ya Never Know from our board was one of the posters who had this. She has our due date too!

  • Mine pops too and it seems to do it when I have gas. It was making crazy noises and popping sounds last night and I had pretty bad gas. I know some women say they heard a pop before their water broke, if that's the case, I'm going to be confused because my stomach seems to pop quite frequently.

  • I thought this was weird too but then I had my mom feel my stomach (she is a nurse practitioner) and she said the baby was having hiccups!

  • I've heard a knocking noise coming from inside there. I think of it as baby knocking his/her legs together. I've got no idea what it is but I agree it's def not gas. I've heard it around 3 times.

  • YES! I heard it twice in the last 3-4 days and it was NOT related to gas at all. I am very regular and did not feel gassy around that time at all. Plus is sounded more like splish splash not like a gas bubble. I am pretty sure it is some sort of a weird move the LO is making...

    Due date triplets! ;)

I have had this since about 26 weeks on... It's definitely not me, it's the baby. From what I've read, their joints and stuff are still quite loose, so they do have little cracks and pops like we get when we move our feet or crack knuckles. When it happens for me, it's right at the front of my belly, and it's loud and clear. You're not alone! :)

ETA: Just saw the other post up there. ;)

I've experienced this as well.  Every time it happened I thought, "How do I google this?" since it was such an odd feeling and I didn't know how to appropriately describe it.  Good to know others have felt it too!
