I <3 my little tax deduction! :-)

Has anyone else gotten their taxes done yet? Since I'm a first-time mom, I had no idea how much I'd be getting back. I'm completely excited to be paying off some bills! YAY! (My dental surgery, Liam's hospital stay from over the summer, a bunch of credit card debt, etc.)

(And my accountant admitted to me that he thinks of his two kids as his "little deductions," too, so I didn't feel that bad admitting it to you ladies.)

This is my first year as a parent AND a homeowner, so I'm super excited about doing my taxes, weird as that sounds. Money!

We did ours and are getting $2 more this year than last year so it's not too big of a deal for us but I did start claiming Dylan at work so I guess I'm surprised we got more than last year!!

but we are getting more than double in our state return since we contributed money to a 529 plan

gotta love the "perks" for having kids

This is the first time in 8 years that we're getting money back instead of having to pay. I'm super excited!

With claiming all the kids and Breanna's college, owning a home and all sorts of other things we usually do pretty well. Hopefully DH can finish our addition now.

Unfortunately since we didn't have federal taxes withheld from my STD benefit for maternity leave having him isn't making much of a difference on our taxes this year. Oh well, next year should be better.
