Late Term and Child Loss

For Preeclampsia Moms

This blog is amazing, Laura had her daughter Cara sleeping because of severe preeclampsia and HELLP...she now has a beautiful rainbow named Carter.  This blog gives great detail about her journey including her rainbow pregnancy, it is amazing because she totally gets it, the fear of pre-e, fear for your baby, fear for yourself... I haven't been able to stop reading for the last two hours: My World

I think she starts talking about the rainbow pregnancy around July 2010.

Re: For Preeclampsia Moms

  • Thank you for posting this blog! HELLP has been a unreal experience, it feels so surreal. I had never heard of it until I was laying in the hospital and the doctor was explaining how I had no kidney and liver function. After everything happened I have been able to do a lot more research on the syndrome that I had never heard about until it changed my life forever.

  • I know what you mean, I "knew" about PE, but I really had no idea... I always had a weird haunted feeling about my last pregnancy...for someone convinced I would never get PE and I would never lose a child, I also thought about it an awful lot, feared it, almost knew it would come.  With this pregnancy I "know" this baby will be ok and I honestly don't feel like I'll get PE again...does that make me not worry?  Of course not.

  • FWIW I had HELLP with Kam it just presented in the third tri, that is why she was born in week 34 nd was underweight.  I even went into seizures.

And I had Pre E and flare ups with Gabriel so if y'all have any questions I am here.

  • Thanks for sharing this.  I had Pre-E and HELLP as well.  It breaks my heart how many of us have lost children to this terrible disease.

  • Thank for for posting this. I am TTC right now after severe pre-e at 24 1/2 weeks doomed my first baby. I'm terrified that it might happen again.
