does everyone get/feel BH?

So it seems like everyone has these BH and I have yet to feel one or maybe I don't know what they feel like.

I also haven't had/felt any contractions.... I don't think.  I've not had any sort of painful anything that takes my breath away I would really like to avoid an induction.

Did anyone go from zero discomfort to labor??

  • I think some people just don't feel them until they are stronger.

I had an NST today and it showed that I was having consistent contractions but I didn't feel any of them. They were small and short but I still had no idea anything was happening.

  • I didn't feel a single BH with my first.  My first sign of labor was my water breaking and 5 minutes later I was in active labor.

  • I"ve felt BH for the past couple of months, but they almost feel the same as baby making a big movement.  The only reason I thought they were BH is that my belly would get hard when it happened.

Now my belly is hard all the time, because Lucia takes up so much room, so I'm having a much harder  time telling.  But since now I'm on the lookout for labor contractions, I figure it doesn't really matter.  At some point it will start being so painful that I'll know I'm going into labor.

This is me too. I wouldn't worry about relating BH to actual labour, they just aren't the same from all I heard.

  • When I first wondered about this same basic thing, I managed to find one source that said that we all get BH contractions from very early on in pregnancy and that they can increase in intensity as pregnancy progresses, but we don't all feel them.  I never felt any with my first.  I had no warning signs before labor began... no cramping, very little early dilation, baby didn't drop... nothing.  I lost my MP with bloody show and was in labor within the hour.

This time, I may have had BH or it could have just been some digestive distress.  I lost my MP early, but that's because it was dislodged during a membrane sweep.  I had some contractions after each of my sweeps, but other than that, my labor actually started in much the same way.
