With my 2 year old, I had some spotting throughout my first tri, but the other night, I experienced some true bleeding (bright red, a clump of tissue on the pad). I went in the next AM for an ultrasound and both sacs were there and fine. RE says that we need to wait it out. Still bleeding off and on.
Did anyone experience this early in the first tri? (I'm 6 weeks)
Re: bleeding in first tri?
I was in the ER at 6w, 7w, and when I had another big bleeding incident at 8w, I didn't bother going in since I knew they couldn't do anything for me. I was soaking multiple (overnight absorbancy) pads in an hour. During the 7w incident, I passed a clot the size of my palm. I was so terrified it was one of the embryos that I took a picture of it to bring to the hospital. The specialist (nearest one is 8 hours away) diagnosed me with an SCH.
I'm 17w now and both babies are fine.
I know it's scary. Hang in there. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope your bleeding is just the babies snuggling in there and getting established.
I also bled from weeks 6-10 because of an SCH. It was a lot, and bright red, and i was scared like crazy, but both babies were totally fine!
My RE also said that both IVF and multiples increase the odds of having an SCH, and the way for an SCH to resolve is to either absorb back into the ute or bleed out, although the likelier is to bleed out.
Hang in there! Hugs.
I had bleeding at 8 weeks, at this time we thought I was pregnant with 1 baby :-) I went in for an U/S and I had 1 sac and 1 heartbeat, and a hematoma- which caused the gush of blood. I went back in at 12 weeks to have it checked and that is when we saw 2 babies. We ended up having no trouble with the hematoma but the Dr did say they can happened more often with twins.
Good luck & praying for the best!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
I went to the ER for bleeding at around 6 or 7 weeks (it was like a really heavy period, and I bled through my pants). I cried the entire way to the ER because I swore that I had lost one or both babies, but everything looked fine. I spotted off and on until 9 weeks, and nobody ever knew why, but it stopped as soon as I graduated from the RE. Both babies are still here, though. I hope everything works out ok for you. I know it's really scary.
