4 Weeks Pregnant

4 weeks and scared!

After two years of trying to conceive my husband and I found out officially today that we are pregnant.  My first blood HCG was 44 which is ok but hopefully is doubled by Saturday.  So many emotions and fear go along with finding out.  We are beyond excited.  I have no idea what pregnancy is like.  Mild cramping and just feeling odd/full is normal right? I can't quite describe how I feel but I know it's different.  This is going to be a fun journey.  Praying and hoping for good levels on Saturday.

Re: 4 weeks and scared!

  • Congratulations!!! I am 4 weeks pregnant with my second child (my first is only 19 months, so this is all very familiar to me). Mild cramping & feeling a little "off" but in a good way, is totally normal. Even though we can't see or feel anything happening, SO MUCH is. My normal symptoms this early, is just being tired, granted I also have a toddler. Don't worry if the typical symptoms don't come right away. I was lucky enough to never even have morning sickness with my daughter. Every pregnancy is different for every woman, so don't worry too much if you don't follow the "normal" tract of pregnancy. Try to relax & totally enjoy it all. Being pregnant is amazing! Good luck & congrats again!

  • Hi!  I'm totally with you on this!  I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant.  This is my 2nd one, but my daughter is 10 years old so this seems all new to me. My husband and I have been trying and are so excited!  My daughter is thrilled!  I just hope that all goes well and that we dont miscarry.  I didnt have any problems with my daughter, but that was 10 years ago!
  • I am also 4 weeks pregnant with my second child. Our first child is 17 months. I have mild cramps, very little nausea, and I am so exhausted. I could sleep all day long! I work as a nurse a few nights a week, so this should be interesting. I had my HCG test done today and will have a second one on Friday to compare. I have an ultrasould for next week. I am going to be 39 in March, had a preterm labor the first time, and have a compromised uterus d/t the leep procedure. My first pregnancy was a scare when they told me my blood work showed some levels of possible Downs Syndrome. I am considered "Advanced Maturnal Age" It can be very scary to get that call. We forged ahead, didn't do the amnio and took our chances. We have a healthy happy little girl. This second pregnancy birngs fear for me too. You are not alone. I pray to god every night for a healthy baby. I wish you the best of luck. I am sure you will be just fine!

  • Hi jamersdimon, congratulations to you and your hubby.  I know where you're coming from as my husband and I were TTC for 2.5 yrs and we just found out that are expecting after our 3rd IVF.  I am only 4 weeks and am terrified.  It took so long to get here that I don't want to do anything to jeapordize it.  We are so excited to begin this next chapter in our lives.  I hope that you are feeling well...best of luck to all!!!
