Day of 3 nap fail is in session.
DD woke up at 0545 and nursed for an almost 50 min. Fell asleep. Put in her in the pnp where she promptly woke up. Swaddled her, gave her the paci and she woke up 5 min later. Put her back on the boob hoping to lull her to sleep again. Nursed for 10 min or so, fell back alseep. Woke up again as soon as she was put in her pnp. Moved her to swing with paci. Took her 45 minutes to fall alseep! At this point, she had been awake for 2 hours. She slept for about an hour.
Sat down at 10 to nurse her and she fell asleep about 1045. Rocked her for another 10 minutes to make sure she was out cold. Moved her to pnp where, *surprise, surprise* she promptly woke up. Her eyes were droopy, so I got in the shower hoping the white noise would calm her down and lull her to sleep. No such luck.
Got out of the shower to find her smiley, yet her eyelids were still drooping, so she was clearly tired. Swaddled her, gave her the paci, turned on the white noise machine and it took her another 20 minutes of me completely ignoring her to fall asleep. Success! For 4 minutes...yep, she woke up 4 minutes later. FML! Can I duct tape her eyes shut!? (kidding, of course).
Re: F/U to nap help
Ugh, I feel your pain! I hope you are able to get him down in the pnp or crib soon.
MrsC, driving around is my absoute last resort, but I may end up doing that if it comes down to it.
She finally fell asleep in the pnp about 30 minutes ago and just started crying for her paci. I put it back in and she fell back asleep....success! As much as I hate that she has become completely dependent on the paci, I'll take it if it will get her to sleep. Now I am tiptoeing around the house trying not to wake her up.

DS is now back down for the 3rd time thanks to the Jehovah's Witness that rang my doorbell and woke him up. GRRRRR.
We are also working on weaning DS off the paci - he was waking up every 15-30 minutes from 3pm-7pm b/c it fell out of his mouth. I think he would like it for naps and that it would help him sleep, but the night time paci dance can't happen once I go back to work next week.
Been there and have done that just to get an hour of peace and quiet! (and to regain some sanity)
I totally do this to people who wake R up when he's sleeping/napping.
Everyone should KNOW that I have a newborn in the house and it just took me 3 mothereffing hours to get him down for a nap and you have the nerve to make noise? REALLY?
Reallllllllly ragey. Totally irrational and self centered, but still reallllllly ragey.
We went to visit some friends that have a 4 week old. They literally taped a note over the doorbell that said something like "ring this and I'll cut you", LOL

Lol the people that I nannied for had a sign hanging over their doorbell that said something like "Wake the baby and YOUR putting him back to sleep."
OP: Will she sleep if you hold her? That is usually the only way I can get DD to nap. Sometimes after 30-45 mins I can put her in her swing and she will stay asleep but most times she just naps on me.
