DS has been in newborn dipes (recently Huggies pure and natural). In the last few days, he has been soaking through them leading to about 4 changes of clothes daily including his undershirt that also gets wet. I change him when I notice he is wet and when he wakes up from naps/before feeds, so he's not going more than 3-4 hours between changes. Last week he was just under 8 pounds, so it seems like newborns should still fit since then go up to 10 pounds. Would the next size offer more protection or are they just bigger?
I have an unopened box of newborns sent to us by my mom from amazon. If I need to go up in size (I have some 1s at home I can try), does anyone know if amazon will exchange for size or would they just have to be returned and re-ordered? I have prime and so does my mom who ordered them, if that matters.
Re: when to change diaper size and returns to amazon
Any time they soak through or have a couple blowouts it's an indication that you need to go up in size. Forget what the poundage is on the package because it's all about is the diaper capable of absorbing your baby's pee and poop...
Sometimes you can take unopened diapers to Walmart or Target and they'll let you do an exchange without a receipt.
I had the worst time with the Huggies Pure & Natural diapers! DS would soak through the back of almost every single one. I switched to Pampers and we didn't have any problems. So it could be the diapers (or like someone else said - could be time to switch sizes).
