Do you take fish oil?

I don't eat seafood, so I try to get the benefits from fish oil pills. Are they okay while nursing? I've been taking them but am concerned about the possible mercury. The pills I take say they go through a process to remove mercury, but I don't know how accurate that is.

It's safe and beneficial as long as you've got the "ultra purified" kind. No risk at all and it improves the fat profile of your milk.

I should take them, but I'm bad at taking giant pills.

Yes, I take a fish oil. I have the Up & Up brand from target that is extra processed to remove mercury. I feel comfortable that it is as pure as I'm going to get. Taking fish oil also helps your other vitamins absorb better, like if you take vitamin D and calcium.

somewhere on the bottle it should say mercury free or contains less than so many parts per million...in which case its fine- I use the costco brand and know they are fine I think most of your other major brands are the same

Thanks! I get mine from a vitamin shop and they do say extra purified on them.
