Late Term and Child Loss

Dang it! (living kid mentioned)

I have a necklace, that I got for Valentines Day last year.  I have worn it every day since I got it.  Hubs gave it to me.  It's a butterfly pendant, with Amethysts and Pink Sapphires in the wings.  Added to that, a friend from my old infant loss group got these little ovals with their first initial (nickname) on the front, and an imprint of a butterfly on the back.  I have one girl on each side.  Well, today, since DS is EXHAUSTED (didnt go to sleep until 2 this morning, and was up again at 930), he's throwing a fit about going to bed (he usually does, but tonight it's worse).  He was sitting next to me, and hubs picks him up to put him in his room, and he GRABS THE CHAIN of my necklace.  HE BROKE MY NECKLACE!  I know it's just a chain, but still...it represents my babies, and I dont ever take it off.  I wore it to my sisters wedding, and it didnt even go with the dress..lol.  I flipped when it snapped.  I actually started crying.

I have a tattoo for the girls on my back, so they are always with me, but hubs got me the necklace to represent the girls!  It's the first time he had ever done that!

Ugh...I cant believe I'm so upset over a necklace...it just means so much to me.

  • I'm so sorry about your necklace.  I can totally understand being upset about the necklace with what it represents to you.  I hope it can be fixed.  Hugs.

  • Oh no!  That would really upset me too (I have a necklace and I always worry about it breaking).  I hope it can be fixed.

  • Maybe it can be sautered or mended somehow?  I am so sorry.  I know that had to be upsetting.  Just because you know it was an accident doesn't make it anyless sad or devastating.

  • I'm sorry. We get so attached to whatever precious mementos we have of our babies, because they are so few.
