back labor?

Anyone here have any experience with back labor? I had some more intense pains/contractions this morning in bed, and since then my lower back has been hurting on and off. Few noticeable contractions. Just wondering if I should start timing my back aches?

    Isn't back labor when the baby is sunny side up?  I had this with DD, my labor was a bit$h, and I had some contractions that radiated through my lower back (I have them now too actually), but I didn't think back labor meant you ave contractions in your back, thought it was based on baby's positioning while you are actually in labor.

    Not sure how much help I can be, as I am a FTM, but my sister had back labor with both of her babies and never felt contractions in the front what so ever.  She just realized what they were because the pain was so intense that she could not do anything else but focus on them.  Hope this helps!

    thanks ladies!

    back labor can be an indication that baby is sunny side up, but this isn't always the case. hopefully that isn't what it means for me!
