Austin Babies

I don't understand Jon-Jons for baby boys.

They just look so feminine to me.  I love s mo cke d au ctio ns on FB, but the stuff they sell for the boys is so girly.  Sometimes I have to wonder if they are girl outfits.

Someone 'splain it to me.

  • It's just a classic style. You either like it or your don't. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. :)

  • Though, you know, come to think of it, Ben had a little pair of smocked shortalls that my MIL made. He wore them at three months and looked freaking adorable.

I wish I would have asked last night.  I, in fact, did lose sleep over it.  You could have saved my night!

  • I love them. Love love love them. While my boy is a baby, I want him to look like a baby. As a toddler, he still wears them, and I can't say I think they look girly. But, that's the aesthetic amongst the people I know. Most of my friends and family dress their little boys like that.

  • Rockin' the jon-jons & bubbles even (and like MrsAJL said - they're classic). FWIW - we don't put Morris in jeans either. There's plenty of time for him to wear that, so while I can put him in the cute monogrammed & smocked stuff, I do. I also am okay him him looking a little gender neutral.

    Those ARE adorable!

I think it might be the model that they use for their pics.  He doesn't look particularly boyish and I often can't tell if the outfit he is modelling is for a boy or girl, because sometimes I forget he is a (edited) BOY.  I love the monogram.

  • Ya, that little boy is perfectly coiffed and never has dirty/bruised legs. That's not how I roll.

  • I think some of them look really girly but for the most part I really like them. I remember my Aunt dressing my cousins in them and my girl cousins and I all had matching dresses for family pictures. They are just a classic look to me. I wanted Jack to be baptized in them but I'm hoping they still make them in bigger sizes since the church is dragging their feet on scheduling it.

  • I'm not a fan - but I seriously hate ALL baby boy clothes, I think.  I have not bought one thing for our boys because I think it is all so ugly.  Seriously, where do people shop for boys stuff?  I admit I'm picky but I can't really wrap my head around what kind of style these boys will have (I realize they're little boys and don't necessarily need a "style" but that's just how I am).Thank god I already have a girl.

There is a little boy at A's day care that wears a ton of Gap stuff.  Comfy looking sweatsuits and stuff with hoodies and ears.  And little bears.  So, so cute.

That's probably where I'll end up shopping and they'll (ha, I just typed "he'll" and had to correct it) just wear like basics.  I get most of V's clothes now from Gap.  There was this little boy in her old day care who dressed SO cute.  He was kinda edgy without trying to be ALL like "my parents are Austin hipsters."  I wish I knew where his momma shopped!
