What a week

Not a rant... just a release.

It has been a crazy week! DH wasn't feeling well the end of last week. Too sick to go to work on Monday, I begged him to go to the doctor (we are the type to just try to fight the symptoms without going to the doc). Turns out he has pneumonia! Pneumonia! He has been home all week, and has probably only been awake a total of 10 hours since Monday. With all of his meds and his general illness, he can't seem to do anything but sleep, and he looks so pathetic. At work, he only has 10 days of PTO - sick AND vacation time. So between paternity leave and this illness, he is out of PTO. Fortunately, he has been easy to care for since all he wants to do it sleep. Unfortunately, per doc's orders, he is to stay away from DS as much as possible, and DH is actually pretty miserable about that fact.

Also, DS has been going through a growth spurt. He is slowly figuring out his days and nights. He has been gradually working toward being wide awake in the afternoon/evening and falling asleep late in the evening, and sleeping through late morning with the typical feeding wake ups. So I am not getting any late day naps in which makes it terribly difficult to keep up with his growth spurt schedule of feeding every 2ish hours over night. Plus, I think that I have a clogged duct (no lumps, just extremely tender and kinda warm in one area).

I really need help int he afternoons in order to mentally get me through the nights, but I have none. My best friend was unemployed and constantly offering her services. But wouldn't you know, she got a new job this week (seriously, great for her!), so I have no one to call on before 6:00. And by that point, I feel lousy asking someone to help when I know they just want to go home to their own lives/families.

On the bright side, I do enjoy watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon repeats at 3:00 am!

And now DS has awoken ready to feed...
