My company sends a newsletter out monthly, and in this issue there are 3 pregnancy announcements. I'm one of them.
The 1st one, mentions the spouse, due date, baby shower and wishes my co-worker good luck.
The 3rd one, mentions the spouse, due date and congratulates them on their expectant twins.
Mine was the 2nd one, they didn't mention my spouse or due date, they didn't congratulate me or wish me good luck. Instead they made a joke about drinking the water on my floor, because I'm the 3rd person to get pregnant in my department.
I know I'm being hyper-sensitive, but it hurt my feelings. I know its not their job to celebrate my pregnancy, just because I worked so hard for it. I just wish they hadn't used my news as a platform for a joke.

Re: Company Newsletter (mini vent)
I feel ya....
we don't have a newsletter, but I am the 6th pg person on my unit (which only has about 15 females of childbearing age). when i finally told them i was pg i got the ..."oh you drank the water too???" teehee.
mind you...i had already been lapped by 2 of the currently pg girls.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

I don't think you're being hyper sensitive. That would have hurt my feelings, too. Do you work for a small company where everyone knows each other well? I would have been mortified if my pregnancy was officially announced in any way at work. The people that needed to know knew, and everyone else found out when I started showing or by gossip, which was fine with me.
I did get one hurtful comment from a coworker, about how I "Lost the race" because another coworker, who got married after me, had a baby in September right around the time that I told people at work. I just told him that we weren't in a race, and that my husband and I are very excited.

Me too!
But you're right, that was pretty tacky. If all 3 had been jokes, that would have been one thing. But the other two were nice, and yours was just a joke. No fair!

Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
I would be really peeved if my pregnancy was associated with a "somethings in the water" joke.
That was the running theme the last two times there were waves of pregnancy in the office. If only it were that easy....
You don't know how good it feels to be validated here, I kept going back and forth about whether or not I was being ridiculous.
And yes, I was not pleased with the announcement in the first place, who I wanted to know, knew, otherwise to send it to our 75+ employees seemed a bit much.
