Long distance gender reveal ideas

We find out Feb.27th what we're having and we want to have a creative way to reveal it to our families, but unfortunately they're in Louisiana and Mississippi and were in Washington state. Anyone have any cute gender reveal ideas that we could do long distance?

  • Take a picture of yourself and Hubby holding something blue/pink--- a balloon, some booties, tie a ribbon around your waist--- whatever your 'style' is.  Don't tell anybody that's what you're doing!  Send it out to everyone in the mail but in a St. Patty's day card/envelope.  Make sure you put not to call and tell anyone in the card so the surprise isn't ruined for people who receive the mail later than others!

  • We found out last Wednesday what we are having.  My husband is currently deployed so he couldn't go with.  My mom went with instead, so that took care of her knowing.  When he called on Skype later that night, after I revealed it to him, I dialed his parents on the house phone and put it on speaker so that we could tell them together.  It was going to be too difficult though, since he only gets to call late at night, for us to call our grandparents.  So earlier in the evening I went to Wal-mart's website and created little photo cards that say "It's a girl!" and have one of her ultra-sound photos on them and then I picked them up an hour later at the closest store and had them in the mail first thing on Thursday morning.  I got a call from all three sets of (great) grandparents  yesterday telling me they received them and how much they loved the little photo card.

  • Thanks so much all of these ideas are great. I was thinking something with skype just so we could see their reactions, but I really like the pretend st patty's card!

  • Send small cakes they have to cut into or bite into to see the color, send a plastic egg with a blue or pink peep inside they have to open to see, send flowers with a "it's a ... " balloon attached, take professional pictures with your belly and you holding something blue or pink and send in a card, the front could even have "it's a..." and then they open up to see boy/girl or blue/pink. Send an envelope or Skype and open the envelope and do it awards show style, you could even have te technian write it down so you can find out with them at the same time over Skype.
