My DD is 9.5 months. He has never been a great sleeper, but we have been working on it. Latley he has trouble settling into sleep. He goes to daycare and does not nap well there at all, so he crashes around 630. He can be up every hour screaming sometimes until 1 or 2 am, and then sleep great until 7 or 8. I have Ferber and tried CIO at waited intervals. He will go to sleep, but still wake up crying an hour later. Should I try a later bedtime? Any thoughts? He is BF and I normally let him nurse once or twice overnight. (He knows how to put himself to sleep, I see him do it all the time over the monitor).
Re: Sleep help
We have similar issues with DD. The thing that helped us was making sure she got enough daytime sleep- when she doesn't nap well/enough during the day, she wakes up frequently at night. I know it's hard to make them sleep during the day, but that really was the best solution for us. Good luck!
ETA: I just found this website. I'm absolutely going to be using some of these tips, I don't know if they will help you, but here you go. https://www.easybabylife.com/baby-sleep.html
Mama's Gonna Buy You A Mockingbird
We've just come off a rough few weeks of sleep ... some of those nights she was up almost every hour. Honestly, it was hard to know if I should nurse or not but out of desperation I probably overfed her just to get her back to sleep. Have you heard of the 8-10 month sleep regression? Hard to know if that's what it is but it sounded like my LO.
When we have bad naps our nights can be pretty rough so I'd try to work on the naps a bit but keep the routine the same (bath, book, time etc.) I've altered bedtime by a 1/2 hour each way but it didn't seem to help. Great that your LO knows how to put himself back to sleep, keep up the good habits and hopefully it's just a developmental milestone/growth spurt issue
