How EF is oxiclean?

I keep hearing it recommended for CD, and I see there is a "baby oxi" version. The packaging I saw didn't list ingredients, though. Since I have detergent allergies, I would like to use something gentle and EF from the start so I don't have to find out via itchy butt rash that my LO has this allergy, too.

Re: How EF is oxiclean?

  • From what I've heard it's not so EF at all. I've used Crunchy Clean's oxygen cleaner and liked it, but I've been using BioKleen's Oxygen Cleaner and like it. I try go stock up on it on sale and with coupons.

  •  I was told no oxiclean on diapers- but tnere is something else...I think oxibrite? that is recommended for use on cloth diapers.
  • It's just washing soda and hydrogen peroxide.  Or, rather, it breaks down into that when you add water to it.  When I buy it, I usually purchase the cheaper off brand right next to it which does list the active ingredient (sodium percarbonate)
  • I'm not sure how EF it is, but I do know that the EFF blog's recipe calls for it (both the regular clothes version and the CD version).
