Question from a Lurker

Hello ladies!  I just found out last Thursday that I am pregnant with twins, after TTC since July 2010, almost a year with my RE, and a m/c in September.  I've had pretty bad m/s for about two weeks and have been feeling better today.  I'm wondering if it is normal for m/s symptoms to lessen around 9 w or if I should be concerned.  This is my first pg, and I have no idea what to expect, especially with twins.  Thank you for your help!

  • Congratulations! My symptoms were all over the place. Especially around 10w - 12w, sometimes I would wonder if I were actually pregnant. I felt much better later on when the belly started to grow and the babies were moving away in there.

First of all, congratulations!! My symptoms waxed and waned all the time! It's scary, but try to enjoy when you are feeling well :)

This exactly. Good luck to you!

  • I had a few random good days in the 1st trimester, but just when I would think it was getting better, I'd have a set-back.  I was feeling pretty good by 12 weeks and great by 15 weeks.  I'm now getting nausea back at 20 weeks in the evening...it's quite the journey :)

  • like pp i had a few good days in there, but it was not until week 14 when it all stopped, then acid reflux started... but mine was super sever and required IVs and drugs to manage, i still had a few good days, if it totally disappears and you have no nausea or anything before week 12  you might want to ask your doctor, but you could also be dehydrated, or have just eaten something that agrees with you. • My m/s tapered off around 14 or 15 weeks. I wouldn't worry about losing your m/s, it's so different for everyone.

  • Congrats!  I've heard from plenty of people that their M/S symptoms only lasted until around then as well. Mine came and went until 13 weeks, but everyone is different! Good luck w/ your pregnancy! Twins are a lot of work but are such a blessing! :)
